Short Season for Cubs Shortstop: Addison Russell Suspended 40 Games Over Domestic Violence Accusations

In October of 2018, Chicago Cubs shortstop, Addison Russell, was placed on a 40-game suspension for violation of the Major League Baseball’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy.  The suspension stems from allegations of emotional, verbal, and physical abuse made by Russell’s now ex-wife, Melisa Reidy.  Russell was placed on administrative leave after Reidy shared a blog post, detailing accounts of abuse and infidelity.  The suspension is retroactive to September 21, 2018 and will continue into the 2019 season. … More Short Season for Cubs Shortstop: Addison Russell Suspended 40 Games Over Domestic Violence Accusations
